VR discoverability platform SideQuest now available on Android
SideQuest has launched a free Android app version of the PC desktop client to help give virtual reality users easier access to its platform.
It’s a VR discoverability platform which allows you to load apps onto your Oculus Quest, introducing you to titles on Oculus App Lab as well as hundreds of VR games that are in beta or early access.
The platform has worked seamlessly on PC in the past and now the developers have made it easier to access SideQuest apps with the new Android app that allows you to join the wider VR community, share feedback directly to developers and experience a wider range of what VR has to offer.
This means you won’t need to use a PC at all to access these VR titles on your headset, and can do it all from your Android smartphone. Combine this with the fact that the Oculus Quest 2 is a completely standalone headset that doesn’t need to be connected to a PC, your VR experience can now be completely mobile.
“One of the most requested SideQuest features is to be able to access it without a PC,” says Shane Harris from SideQuest. “Today I am stoked to announce the launch of the SideQuest mobile app, with support for App Lab and sideloading.”
“We are more committed than ever here at SideQuest to do all we can to bring cutting edge content to users and to help developers succeed in VR.”
“We are humbled to have earned the trust of the VR community and we will keep pushing the industry forward in any way we can. We hope you will enjoy a mobile SideQuest experience!”
You can download the SideQuest app now from the Google Play for Android store.
