This may be an exaggeration, but the Kingdom Rush series taught us to look at the medieval fantasy genre in a whole new way regarding gaming. Namely, it presented it in a very colourful, comical, stylized, but still very challenging way. It remains one of the top mobile tower-defence games, and its graphics still hold up. There have been other games that have tried to mimic such a style while presenting their gameplay. Rumble Heroes is a title that is taking a stab at it and making a pretty good case for itself with action-adventure RPG gameplay.

Since you're here, we can assume that you're probably trying to compose the best possible team in Rumble Heroes, and you're stuck. All because the finest teams require the best heroes to lead them, here are the top 8 that you should pick.

1
Time Mia

Any hero that can control time automatically goes to the top of the list, which is why you're reading about Time Mia. She's a magic-based character who can attack with ranged strikes as well as support her teammates with her Time skills. The first one she gains is Time Difference, which affects both allies and enemies. She chooses one to create a field around, and all enemies in the field are slowed while all allies in the field are boosted. Her ultimate is Time Control, which damages all enemies with an AoE attack and stuns them too. The stronger her skills get, the shorter their Cooldown time.

2
Ego Sword Polly

Ego Sword Polly is a hero you kind of feel sorry for since she's wielding an evil-looking sword with a mind of its own. Luckily, this sword's abilities can be used for the benefit of the party. She is a very strong melee attacker who can be thrust right in the middle of the fray. In addition to her stats, she's aided by her first skill Desire, which lets her do massive damage and absorb health from enemies. When she gets Berserk, she can unleash an AoE attack that inflicts enemies with Bleed to deal more damage. When levelled up, Polly can even hit enemies into the air.

3
Brave Uva

You'll get heroes from all walks of life while on this quest, and Brave Uva has travelled far to join your team. Using abilities learned and honed in the jungle, Uva is a speedy attacker who can move around the field. Uva also has skills that can support the party by making enemies even easier to defeat. Starting with Poison Totem, you can place it on the field to poison enemies that come near and suffer an attack decrease. This can be followed up with the powerful Impale to hit hard across the field and launch enemies high. With extra power, the Totems can be used to speed up ally attacks.

4
Calm Foe

Calm Foe's skills and stats mark him in a supporting role that can also fight. His starting ability is Healing Strike, which does exactly as advertised. You select an enemy and Calm Foe unleashes a bunch of attacks while also healing your party at the same time. With enough training, he'll eventually get the divine power of Tranquility, which can make your whole party invincible for a few seconds. With even more training, the invincibility can be made to last even longer.

5
Shotgun Gupi

When it comes to creating a fantasy setting, periods are not a thing, which is why you can have a swordsman sharing the battlefield with a gunner like Shotgun Pupi. This large guy is one of the few heavy hitters who can attack from a range. Since he has a Shotgun, he can use Buckshot, which fires pellets in a spread to hit multiple enemies and can be improved to pierce multiple targets. He can also take care of himself by using his Emergency rations, which will heal for a chunk and then let him recover health over time.

6
Epee Laura

Although you'll spend most of the game travelling with multiple heroes in a party, it's wise to have a duelist like Epee Laura in the mix. Wielding a rapier, she's a fast attacker made to tear through individual targets. Her stats allow her evasion to be pretty high, which works well with her skill Lightning Strike - this deals high damage against enemies in a straight line. After more time in the field, she'll learn Sword Dance, which is made to be used against tougher enemies and bosses. She can unleash a fury of strikes that eventually stun the target and can be triggered whenever she lands a critical hit.

7
Dancer Maya

Music-related classes and professions tend to come with a certain kind of style and to fill a certain role, which is why Dancer Maya looks like one of the related archetypes. Despite being a performer, Maya's support abilities can significantly shift the tides of battle, especially during long and difficult encounters. Her Cheer ability lets her heal a specific hero over time and can be upgraded so that they get an attack boost as well. Her finest performance is Dance of Bravery, which can boost the attack and movement speed of all heroes to make them even more effective.

8
Big Hammer Joe

Every party of adventurers needs someone who can be affectionately called "the Big Guy", and Big Hammer Joe is quite literally that. He is a big guy with a big hammer who can be at the head of the party dishing out the damage and taking all the hits. His stats already make him hearty and tough, and his abilities enhance his position. His Hammer Strike lets him land several strikes in an AoE range, and, when fully upgraded, can stun foes. To draw in targets, he can use Flaunting Blow to damage them while also raising his defence and levelling up to heal himself as well.
