Minecon 2016 - the Big Boss Update gets a date, and Add-Ons are on their way
Minecraft YOUR way
The second and final Minecraft article of the day brings us pretty exciting news about the Big Boss Update and what else is coming for Pocket Edition.
In a blog post over the weekend, Mojang announced that alongside the aforementioned update, the next month will see the first implementation of Add-Ons. If you caught Jason Major's talk on Saturday you'll have heard that these Add-Ons will be the ultimate step towards customisation. By switching text files you can change up the game, changing zombies into allies, and chickens into terrifying, explosive fiends if you want to. Hell, you could ride a bark-textured creeper, I won't judge.
In terms of the Big Boss Update it's been a long time coming, but finally Mojang announced that we'll be seeing it on Windows 10 and Pocket Edition on the 18th October 2016. Say bye-bye to the everyday monotony of zombies, spiders, and skeletons, and say hello to the challenge of the Elder Guardian and the dreaded Wither.
As well as getting some harder bosses to battle you'll also be able to use basic slash commands, Realms will support importing and exporting worlds, and the Gear VR Edition and Windows 10 are getting Xbox Wireless controller compatibility (as well as the Oculus Touch support mentioned earlier).
Overall, October's shaping up to be a pretty awesome month for all versions of the game. If you want to keep an eye on the upcoming Add-Ons, check out Mojang's page here.
