Exclusive: Dirk Dagger and the Nuclear Zeppelin coming to N-Gage

Sequel proves there's life in Nokia's games service

Exclusive: Dirk Dagger and the Nuclear Zeppelin coming to N-Gage

Despite all the rumours about N-Gage being killed off, Nokia chose this week's Nokia World conference to show off a sequel to its Dirk Dagger detective adventure (Fallen Idol pictured).

Called Dirk Dagger and the Nuclear Zeppelin, it takes the same core elements as the original: a cartoonish film noir feel, a wisecracking plot, and camera-enabled adventuring.

(As in you can use your phone's camera to pan the scenes while looking for clues.)

We had a hands-on demo from producer Johannes Olli, who confirmed that the same developer - Jadestone - is making the sequel. It will have five chapters, and will be the same length as the first Dirk Dagger title.

However, there's a new story which sees Dirk being framed for a murder, and having to clear his name while catching the real culprit.

There are also some tweaks to the way the game works, with a new inventory screen, mini-games that can be played whenever you want once you've unlocked them, and on-screen icons to make it a bit more accessible.

We thoroughly enjoyed the original, so we're looking forward to the sequel - for which Nokia is sending us screenshots and a trailer imminently.

When's it out? "Very soon" apparently.
