OnLive heading to the next generation of Google TV
Google Live
OnLive has struck a deal with the chip manufacturer Marvell that will enable the next wave of Google TVs to stream games without the need for any additional hardware.
OnLive is a streaming games service that allows users to play a wide selection of PC games without the need for an expensive computer to run them on. In the past year, OnLive has expanded to run on smartphones and tablets.
Onwards and upwardsSteve Perlman, OnLive's Founder and CEO, doesn't seem content to stop at Google TV devices though: "OnLive's focus is to make the highest quality gaming accessible to everyone, anywhere and anytime they want it.
"With Marvell under the hood, we are able to deliver the highest-quality, on-demand gaming experience on groundbreaking devices and systems like Google TV."
This news comes approximately six months after OnLive brought its "OnLive Viewer" service to Google TVs - a service that allowed users to spectate others playing games, view and share brag clips and chat with their friends but unfortunately not play any games.
