  • Ouros, the handcrafted puzzle game, is out now on iOS and Android
  • It features over 120 handcrafted puzzles
  • Solve complex, but elegant, brain teasers using mathematics called splines

Ouros, a handcrafted puzzle game with over 120 unique brain teasers to solve, has landed on iOS and Android. You may recall that we covered Ouros when pre-orders first opened back in July, but now we're excited to say that's finally out. This means you can now play what looks to be one of the most intriguing, if confusing, looking puzzle games I've yet covered.

That's because Ouros is one of the most beautiful, if also the most complex, looking puzzle games I've encountered. Essentially, the game is based around shifting and moving patterns in order to hit notes, a sort of pseudo-rhythm game if you will. Of course, that's just me trying to explain it, and apparently, there's a lot more complicated math to do with something called splines to take into account.

But, by all accounts, it looks a lot more complicated than it really is. And once you see it in action, even in the trailer, it also seems to come together in a quite pleasing way. And it also comes bundled with a calming ambient soundtrack suitable to lull you into the right, psychedelic, frame of mind.

Round, and round we go

Ouros is another great game we've been anticipating for a while. And it's also one that we're genuinely surprised has only just released on mobile. Apparently, the game made quite a splash on Steam, but we think it'll find a whole new audience on smartphones.

In the meantime, if you want to see what other great games are out now, we've got them all ranked in a single place for you. Our list of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far) features some of our top picks from the last eight months, all put together for your convenience.

And if that ranking somehow isn't enough you'll be glad to know that 2024 hasn't given up the ghost just yet in terms of releases. Don't believe us? Check-in on our list of the most anticipated mobile games of the year to see what's coming!
