Grimguard Tactics announces global release date and new pre-registration milestone

Upcoming story-driven tactical RPG Grimguard Tactics will officially hit storefronts on September 12th, it has been revealed. The game has also shot up to over 300,000 pre-registrations since the last time we covered it, bringing some particularly juicy milestone rewards into reach.
If you're into grimdark settings, then I'm happy to report that Grimguard Tactics has everything you might want. Incomprehensible evil from beyond? Check. Dead Gods? Check. A horrible cataclysm? Check. And only your brave band of warriors can save the world, or more likely die trying? Check and check.
While Grimguard Tactics offers the same sort of hero collection we've seen in other games, it should only take a glance at the promotional material and trailer to see this is a fittingly darker fantasy take. With strategic combat alongside more common mechanics like AFK autoplay and town building, Grimguard Tactics could be the new take on strategy RPGs you've been looking for.
If you pre-register ahead of the game's release, you'll also gain access to an exclusive dungeon, gacha events, portrait frames, avatar cosmetics and the legendary Dawnseeker Arbiter hero.
While Grimguard looks interesting, I'm not sure if it'll manage to break free of the often restrictive genre of gacha titles, even with a more unusual setting and aesthetic. Still, it'd be nice to see more free-to-play RPGs like this adopt a more mature fantasy style.
