Before the action begins, Tarisland allows the players to pick their preferred character. Each character has certain roles. You can even choose the roles (Tank, Healer, DPS) you like from the get-go! That’s some difficult decisions to make before you even play the game. That’s why it’s understandable if you are unsure which class and role to choose. Hopefully, our Tarisland tier list will help you pinpoint the perfect class for your playstyle.

But first, let’s meet the main character classes!

There are nine main character classes in Tarisland. Each of these has two further specializations/paths. You must choose one of the two paths to follow. You can take a look at character classes and their specializations at the end of the Tarisland tier list. Read with interest as this section will help you better understand all the character classes, which, in turn, will help you choose the best class that suits your playstyle.

Now, let’s jump right into the Tarisland tier list. I’ve used four tiers - S, A, B, and C - to rank the playable characters by factoring in their skills, attributes, and how well they perform in the various Tarisland game modes.

S Tier

  • Bard - Solo
  • Barbarian Fighter - Thunder
  • Priest - Pray
  • Paladin - Guard
  • Ranger - Hunting
  • Shadow Swordsman - Duel

Let’s kick things off with our S-tier, and you’ll see only the best character specializations for every role.

Bard - Solo and Barbarian Fighter - Thunder are in there due to their best-in-class DPS abilities. If you want pure damage dealers, you won’t find a class better than Barbarian Fighter’s Thunder and Bard’s Solo role. Paladin - Guard is simply the best tank in the game with decent DPS abilities. Whether it’s PvE Raids or PvP Duels, no one withstands as much punishment as Paladin-Guard. Ranger - Hunting gets in the S tier for two reasons - it’s the deadliest ranged DPS that’s very easy to master. Both Priest classes are great healers, but the better damage-dealing gets Priest - Pray into the S tier.

Lastly, we have Shadow Swordsman - Duel, a melee DPS that’s the best at dealing burst damage. If you can perfect this technical build, you can have a deadly assassin in your team that deals damage and provides party buffs.

A Tier

  • Bard - Harmony
  • Mage - Frost
  • Mage - Flame
  • Paladin - Justice
  • Phantom Necro - Soul Healing
  • Ranger - Tamed Beast
  • Warrior - War Shield

The ‘other’ Bard path is Harmony. It is completely different from Bard - Solo and not as effective. You get AOE and self-healing by following the Harmony branch but miss out on ranged DPS abilities.

Mage is the only class that has both roles in the same tier. You can choose Frost or Flame and get similar skills and stats across all PvP and PvE game modes. Low survivability is the only reason they drop down to the A tier. Make sure you have a tank around to protect these fragile magicians.

Paladin-Justice is just as good a tank as Paladin-Guard. You’ll get similar performance from both Paladin roles if you have a decent DPS in your party. However, the Guard’s DPS skills can help out a weaker DPS like the Ranger-Tamed Beast.
Use the Warrior - War Shield character for PvP battles early on and then forget you ever had it. The performance is exceptional for low-level Duels and Arena battles, but the fall-off is insane! Phantom Necro - Soul Healing offers decent support as a healer, especially in PvP game modes. However, their performance in PvE is disappointing, to say the least. Plus, the Phantom Necro class is not for beginners.

B Tier

  • Barbarian Fighter - Frozen
  • Priest - Faith
  • Shadow Swordsman - Cunning
  • Warrior - Rage

While the specializations of Barbarian Fighter look very similar on paper, there are chunks of differences in their in-game performances. Barbarian Fighter - Frozen, for some reason, fails to bring the same tanky-ness and damage dealing as the Thunder branch. The Ice and Melee combination doesn’t work as well as Thunder and Melee.

Priest - Faith is a very one-dimensional character. You’ll have to go all-in on a healer build. Don’t expect any DPS skills from this branch. Similarly, Warrior - Rage entirely focuses on DPS and forgets to bring the tanky-ness expected from a bruiser-type character. Shadow Swordsman - Cunning is another hard-to-master role with its technical skillset based around poisons, evasive gameplay, and below-average burst damage. You have to be precise to get the best out of this character. However, once you do, you will get uniform performance across all game modes.

C Tier

  • Phantom Necro - Soul Snatch

The Soul Snatch branch of the Phantom Necro is the worst character class in the Tarisland right now. It’s a difficult class with non-existent DPS and underwhelming healer/support abilities. At least the Soul Healing build will get you a decent healer.

And that concludes the Tarisland tier list. Some of the characters and classes appear similar on paper but their performances vary in the game. Characters in the S and A tier are strong and aren’t affected too much by the game mode. However, B and C-tier characters are a different story. Hopefully, the information provided in this tier list will help you pick the right characters for your various adventures. Of course, read on to learn more about the class specializations.

Specializations

Warrior - Specializations: Rage & War Shield

The Warrior is a melee class in Tarisland with decent Tank and DPS abilities. Not great, not bad, just decent. And the fact that the Warrior class has the lowest agility doesn’t help. Avoid the not-so-special Rage specialization and follow the War Shield route for a decent PvP build.

Paladin - Specializations: Justice & Guard

With skills like self-healing and defence buffs for the team, Paladin earns the title of the best tank in Tarisland. You can also make a great early-game DPS out of a Paladin. But, for mid and end-game content, it’s best to rely on Paladin’s main strength- tank.

Ranger - Specializations: Tamed Beast & Hunting

Ranger is the most beginner-friendly class in Tarisland. Ranged DPS abilities and high mobility make Ranger a good choice for PvP combat and PvE exploration. However, don’t expect your Ranger to withstand a continuous onslaught. They have little to no tanky-ness. You’ll have to rely on their mobility skills to avoid taking too much damage.

Barbarian Fighter - Specializations: Thunder & Frozen

Barbarian Fighter is a stronger and sturdier version of Warrior mixed with Paladin. They are a reliable tank, an unforgiving DPS, and don’t need much support from other party members. Instead, they bring along decent raid buffs for everyone around them. However, one specialization is better than the other. Check out the tier list to find out which is which.

Bard - Specializations: Solo & Harmony

Bard is the best class for players looking to create a specific build. The Solo path will get you an excellent ranged DPS, while Harmony’s self and AOE healing is great for support. Top all that off with the high manoeuvrability and the low tanky-ness won’t even matter.

Priest - Specializations: Faith & Pray

Priest excels in AOE healing. That’s what makes Priest the best healer class in Tarisland. The two specializations - Faith and Pray - also have some DPS abilities, but they aren’t good enough to be your main DPS. It’s best to build Preist as your primary healer, especially for end-game content.

Mage - Specializations: Frost & Flame

The Mage class makes one of the best - if not THE best - DPS in Tarisland for both PvP and PvE game modes. Regardless of the specialization, a Mage can deal serious AOE and targeted damage using their fire or ice magic. But, there is a trade-off. Mages have the lowest survivability.

Shadow Swordsman - Specializations: Cunning & Duel

Shadow Swordsman is the stealthy class of Tarisland - big on burst damage and evasion but can’t survive too many blows. Much like every other class, Shadow Swordsman also has two specializations. However, one is considerably better than the other. Jump to the tier list to see which is which.

Phantom Necro - Specializations: Soul Snatch & Soul Healing

Phantom Necro is a technical and difficult-to-master class with lacklustre DPS and average support skills. Don’t bother using them as your DPS at all! Use them as your support/healer for your PvP ventures until you get a better healer/support.
