Congratulations!

Classic anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion to arrive in Goddess of Victory: Nikke
  • Goddess of Victory: Nikke is crossing over with top anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • A number of characters are set to appear, alongside a major story event
  • Expect to see major new threats to the Ark making an appearance

Goddess of Victory: Nikke is once more set to cross over with a fan-favourite series, as characters and content from classic anime Neon Genesis Evangelion are set to arrive in-game. The event seems to involve not just the appearance of key characters from the series, but also some unexpected threats from beyond as well.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a series set in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event called Second Impact where strange, semi-divine beings called angels arrive on earth. In order to fight off those who still reside on our planet, humans use giant mecha called Evangelions which are piloted by regular people to do battle with them. Pretty standard mecha stuff (or so you might think.)

We don't have a specific date for when the collab will hit Nikke, but we'd expect something along in the next month or so. As far as confirmed appearances, we know that Asuka, Rei, Mari, and Misato will appear in some form (although not necessarily all as playable characters).

It's an angel!

It can often seem odd to many people to find that Neon Genesis Evangelion remains so popular abroad. Especially considering many other series that saw huge popularity in the West (like the Shonen Jump series Bleach) are conversely far more niche in their home country.

Still, for fans of the series and Nikke alike, the crossover promises to bring fresh allies and new threats for them to face.
