Warframe's latest update is here, with the Lotus Eaters acting as a prologue to the upcoming Warframe: 1999 expansion. The upcoming 90s-themed expansion will be teased in the Lotus Eaters' mission, which itself follows up on the previous quest Whispers in the Walls.
But that's not all, as this update naturally sees the introduction of a whole new Warframe as well. Sevagoth Prime offers increased energy, shield and armor stats and an additional Naramon Polarity mod slot. Once banished to the Void, he's returned to reclaim his ship and pride with the use of his Well of Gloom and Exalted Shadow abilities.
You'll also be able to equip brand new Prime weapons with the wrist-mounted sidearm Epitaph Prime, and team up with a new Prime Companion: Nautilus Prime. And that's alongside a whole host of new cosmetics and additional attachments to further customise your Sentinels. You can craft Sevagoth Prime and his signature weapons for free if you can gather the required Blueprints and components available in Void Relics.
The hotly-anticipated Warframe: 1999 promises to offer a whole new viewpoint on the techno-fantasy world of Warframe, with all the nineties influences you would expect. Even for regular Warframe players, and those who've just entered the game thanks to its recent mobile release, missions like Lotus Eaters promise to offer a tantalising glimpse of what this DLC has to offer.
