Little Nightmares' mobile port delayed to later this year after being announced last September

Having been announced back in September of last year, the highly anticipated mobile port of the adventure horror game Little Nightmares has been delayed to some point later this year instead. The official Tweet from Playdigious, the developers of the port, claims that this delay was in service of polishing up the game and making sure the mobile edition of the beloved game is in good shape when it does finally launch.

In case you aren’t familiar, Little NIghtmares is a horror exploration narrative game with a side of puzzle thrown in for good measure. It sees you take on the role of a child adorned in a raincoat within a confusing world as you board a massive ship full of grotesque, terrifying humanoid creatures who all seem hellbent on eating you. As you unravel the mystery of the ship, you’ll come to realise that not all is as it seems when it comes to the world of Little Nightmares.

The mobile port announcement was met with a lot of positivity, as this sort of easy-to-play and two-three-button type of adventure game is often a great fit for mobile. When it was first announced, Playdigious said that they intended to make sure controls came first and that the game would be comfortable to play on mobile, so perhaps this delay is in service of nailing down those controls.

Regardless of the reason, the delay isn’t too terribly long assuming it does meet the intended later-this-year window, and I would much prefer them to delay it as long as they have to than receive a half-baked mobile port.
