Dunk City Dynasty is an upcoming street basketball game from NetEase for iOS and Android
During the recent Connect event, NetEase unveiled Dunk City Dynasty. If the name didn't give it away, it's a basketball game heading for iOS and Android. It's officially licenced by the NBPA, meaning it will include many NBA stars like Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant and Jordan Clarkson.
Each star will have signature moves they can use on the court alongside idle animations that reflect parts of their personality. They also possess skills that could turn the tide of a match. For instance, Steph Curry has an ability called “Never Give Up”.
As you can see from the screenshots, Dunk City Dynasty has adopted a stylised art style rather than shooting for realism. Instead, it has bursts of colours and leans heavily into street basketball fashion, with plenty of options to personalise your players.
You won't have to step onto the court alone, either. You can team up with your pals or other players and look to dominate the game together. If multiplayer doesn't appeal, you might be more interested in Special Dynasty Mode, which puts you in the shoes of the coach. In this role, you will build an All-Star team and make all the tactical decisions. Elsewhere, there's the 11-Point Game Mode, which promises fast-paced action that puts both your offence and defence skills to the test.
The developer has spent a lot of time refining the movement system to make it as precise as possible, meaning each NBA star should feel like their real-life counterpart. The team has also focused on performance, utilising multi-thread rendering, super-resolution and variable refresh rates to ensure players benefit from a high frame rate yet battery-friendly experience.
Dunk City Dynasty will eventually release on the App Store and Google Play. However, at the moment, there is no word on when that might be.
