On PocketGamer.fun this week: Celebrating Hoyoverse, anime-themed games, and Disney Speedstorm
  • We celebrate Hoyoverse's impact on mobile gaming on PocketGamer.Fun this week
  • In a similar vein, we also check out some anime-themed games
  • Disney Speedstorm is our Game of the Week

Regular readers of Pocket Gamer will be aware that we released a brand new website called PocketGamer.fun. It's a site we've made in collaboration with domain specialists Radix, intending to help you find your next favourite game quickly.

So, if you're looking for distilled recommendations, head over to the site, be greeted with dozens of great games and download any that take your fancy. Alternatively, if you're happy with a little more reading, we'll regularly post articles like this one to update you on what we've posted on the site in the last week or so.

Become a character in your favourite anime

Coming fresh off finishing One-Punch Man season 2, I felt it was the right time to celebrate all the wonderful anime games available on mobile. While many are based on well-known shows, that isn't always the case. Instead, some developers use all the trappings to create something original. Whichever you prefer, we've catered to both tastes in our latest list.

Hoyoverse's impact on mobile gaming

While Genshin Impact is undoubtedly why most of us are aware of Hoyoverse, the developers had a huge impact on mobile before and after its release. Honkai Impact 3rd was always a popular game, just not to the same level. And now, with Zenless Zone Zero and Honkail Star Rail, the company has several heavy hitters bringing more eyes to mobile than ever before. Sure, you can play these games on other platforms, but why would you when they play just as well on a device you can carry around in your pocket? Check out our list on PocketGamer.fun.

Game of the Week

Disney Speedstorm

Disney currently owns approximately half of the universe, it seems. Star Wars, Doctor Who and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are just a few properties the company has acquired over the last few years. Now, while that's all well and good, to me, Disney has always been about those classic films – cartoons, that is, not any of this CGI lion business – I watched in my youth. So, it's nice to see them all brought together in Disney Speedstorm, a karting game that our reviewer Will enjoyed. Check it out if you're looking for a nostalgia trip.
